I just finished up running at Virginia Tech the past 5 years, GO HOKIES!!
I’m from upstate New York, very far from Raleigh NC, but I’ll be racing my high school teammate Jess McGorty (formerly Jess Lawson) for the first time since high school in the Sir Walter Miler, GO CORNING HAWKS!!
I fell into the sport of running my junior year of high school because I was a lacrosse player with plans of playing D1 in college, but my “dream” school gave away my roster spot right before I committed so I quit lacrosse to try track & field in hopes of getting recruited onto their track team instead… I never even ended up going to that lame school and I am so grateful track & field forced its way into my life.
I am a proud third generation track athlete, my grandfather was a pole vaulter at University of Maryland (was the first ever ACC champion in track and field) and later the PV coach there, my dad was a pole vault and decathlete at University of Maryland, and my sister was a steeple chaser at Appalachian State University (again track and field was going to force its way into my life one way or another).
One night 3 summers ago I was supposed to uber to a friend of a friend’s house up in Rehoboth Beach, DE and typed one letter incorrectly when putting in the address and mistakenly ended up at Joe Biden’s beach house.

What is your go-to training shoe? Loyal Nike Pegasus fan, Nike Invincible has also found its way into the mix
What’s your favorite cross training activity? I’ve always been a stationary bike gal, recently started road biking but it really freaks me out
What’s a show, movie, or podcast that everyone should check out? Sprint, GOOD FOR THE SPORT LETS GROW THE TRACK AND FIELD FAN BASE
If I weren’t a runner, I’d mostly likely be… a truck driver.
Do you have any connections to Raleigh and/or North Carolina? My sister lived in Raleigh for a hot minute, my two best friends just moved to Raleigh, my brother and his fiancé live in Charlotte, and my parents live just south of Charlotte… big North Carolina/Research Triangle fan!
