5 Things About Me: Eric Holt
- I broke four minutes in the mile for the first time when I was 24 and 3:55 when I was 27. I didn’t run fast until later in my career.
- I’m 6’1” and 175 pounds. So I’m built a bit different than most 1500 meter runners.
- I’m a coffee enthusiast and drink at least 2-3 cups a day. I love well-made coffee and will gladly pay for a delicious, overpriced cup.
- I majored in English at Binghamton University and worked as a mental-health worker in a psych ward for close to 4 years in Katonah, NY.
- I ran Sir Walter once in 2021 and I’m excited to do something special in my return this year! Super stoked to be back!

- What’s your favorite sport (or athlete) to watch, besides running? Football—I hope the Jets pan out with Aaron Rodgers this year!
- What’s a show or movie you’ve seen lately that’s worth watching? Haven’t watched too many movies lately, but I hope to see Oppenheimer soon!
- What’s a song or podcast that’s currently on your playlist? Anything by Cheap Trick
- Do you have any connections to Raleigh or North Carolina? Home of the coolest guy I know—Craig Engels. He’s a huge inspiration to me!
