5 Things About Me: Lindsey Butler
- This is my third year in a row doing the Sir Walter Mile, I have the longest active streak in the women’s field!
- I work part time as an Industrial Engineer in Blacksburg, and have been doing so for the last year and a half.
- I got engaged last weekend, so this will be my first weekend racing with a big boulder on my hand, I am really hoping it doesn’t slow me down too much.
- I have a knack for finding four leaf clovers, I haven’t kept a consistent count going but i’m somewhere in the 200-300s for 2026 so far.
- I’ve become a Goodwill addict in the last year, my best find in the last few months has been a pair of Gucci boots- catch me sporting those at the after party!!

- What is a movie or show you have seen lately that others should tune into? Everyone needs to get up to speed on Ted Lasso before the new season comes out
- What is a book or podcast that is worth checking out? Demon Copperhead by Barbara Steinbeck, amazing novel set in my corner of Virginia
- What is your “Song of the Summer?” You Get What You Give by New Radicals
- When you’re not training, what’s one of your favorite activities? Controversial but I love doing paint by numbers, is it too obvious I love structure in life?
- Do you have any connections to Raleigh and/or North Carolina? Every year my number of Raleigh connections grow!! I’ve got lots of VT alumni friends in the area that I’m so excited to visit with!
