5 Things About Me: Lindsey Butler

  1. I just finished running at Virginia Tech, which is also exactly what I said in my fun facts last year because I didn’t think I was going to use my 6th year, but low and behold I used it, and I mean it this time I’m DONE (unless…).
  2. In those 6 years of college, I did a little bit of schooling! I have my undergrad in Engineering and master’s in information technology and started working (part time) as an engineer at the beginning of this outdoor season!
  3. My dad and I both finished 7th place at our final NCAAs, both in Hayward field, except mine was in 2025 and his was in 1984.
  4. Since starting college, I’ve kept a running list of every new state (to me) I got to visit while traveling for meets. I finished the list at 16 new states, and hoping to add a plenty more as I enter the pro running space.
  5. I’ve never managed to break 4:30 in the mile, I’m beginning to think it’s a curse that only Sir Walter himself can lift. Tune in Friday night to see!

5 Fast Questions

  1. What is your song of the Summer? I’m Every Woman by Whitney Houston
  2. What’s one place you’ve run that you wish everyone could grab a few miles on? I had to do a long run while in Sorrento, Italy on vacation and ended up taking the most scenic and elevation gaining tour of the coastline. Your heart rate will not dip below a zone 5 and those cobblestone roads are a hazard to weak ankles, but the views are absolutely unforgettable.
  3. What’s your favorite way to hydrate to beat the heat of the Summer? I’m a big fan of Gatorlyte being introduced to the Kroger shelves has changed me for the better.
  4. What’s something you do for fun in your “offseason?” I am looking forward to the VT football season but most importantly the tailgating, whenever my season is finished!
  5. Do you have any connections to Raleigh and/or North Carolina? In the last year I have had loads of friends move to Raleigh, so I am a frequent visitor, and my parents live a stone’s throw away down in Charlotte.
