You may not think you know Heather Kampf, but you do. There’s a YouTube video of her racing in college that has been viewed 15 million times. Yes, 15 million! She’s also a four time National Champion in the road mile, with a 4:21.39 personal best over asphalt!

1. I only joined track because my high school gymnastics coach thought I’d be good at it.
2. I have two dogs- Ellie the Shepherd Mix and Dewey the Pomeranian…collectively, my husband and I call them “The Circus”.
3. The most shocking truth about myself is that I’m a runner and I don’t like coffee.
4. If I could be equally good at any other sport instead of running, I’d choose to be a beach volleyball player.
5. My nickname as a baby was Goobs/Goobers/Goobie-doos because apparently I slobbered all over everything.

North Carolina Connection?
I have never raced or even spent any time in North Carolina, but I’ve only heard good things about the Sir Walter Miler and all the fans that come out to support the race, so I have high expectations for it to be an awesome event again this year!
